Kang Hong-Q is an artist who has been focusing on the beauty of the pictorial transformation of photography. In the variation of diversification of photography, he maximizes the formative elements that transform into a modern perspective on the screen. These works are reinterpreted by discovering the beauty hidden from the traces of tradition with the angle of his unique screen. The 色 and grid screens that are seen in his work as a whole show the geometric spatial analysis focused on by Mondrian and Frank Stella in the past and the painting formative method based on implied contemplation. His eyes pay attention to the object of past time that we inadvertently overlook, capture and restructure the light and color triggered by its appearance and trace, and reproduce it as a pictorial picture on the Kenbus plane. The artist's intimate angle-exploring screen composition rediscovers visual aspects, lines, colors, etc. based on the simplicity element of the minimal concept that he has been hosting for a long time in his consciousness and memory, and focuses on narrative landscapes such as Photography's "Mise-en-scène" composition. The characteristics of this work, such as the geometric color formation of modernity, show the subtle texture and formative ability of the modern color spectrum, which is abstracted and restructured from the traditional colors of Korea's five-way 色. The focus of the angle he pursues with his eyes in this exhibition is largely being reborn by the angle of his intuition, just like a photo restored by reinterpreting the original colors of Korean aesthetics and historical fragrances, hidden in the traces of old temples and rough, sedimentary traces naturally exposed in the course of long periods of rain and wind. 

강홍규 작가는 사진의 회화적 변용방식에 의한 美에 천착해 오고 있는 작가다.. 그는 사진술의 다원화라는 변주 속에 현대 시각으로 전환시키는 조형 요소를 화면에 극대화 하고 있다. 이번 작품들은 전통의 흔적으로부터 숨겨진 美를 그의 독특한 화면의 앵글로 발굴하여 재해석한 작품들이다. 그의 작품에 전체적으로 보이는 色과 그리드( grid) 화면은 과거 ‘몬드리안’이나 ‘프랭크 스텔라’가 집중한 기하학적 공간해석과 여백에서 차용한 동양적인 깊은 사유와 묵시적 관조(Contemplation)에 의한 회화적 조형 방식을 보여주고 있다.

그의 눈은 우리가 무심코 지나친 과거 시간의 사물이라는 오브제에 주목하고, 그 외형과 흔적에서 촉발하는 빛과 색을 포착, 재 구조화하여 켄버스 평면에 회화적 사진으로 재현하고 있는 것이다. 작가의 내밀한 앵글로 탐사하는 화면구성은 그의 의식과 기억에서 오랫동안 숙주 하고 있던 미니멀( Minimal)개념의 단순성 요소를 기반한 시각적인 면,선, 색채, 등으로 재발견하고 사진학(Photagraphy)의 ‘미장센’ 구도와도 같은 서사적 풍경에 포커스를 맞추고 있다., 현대성의 기하학적 색채조형과 같은 이번 작품의 특징은 한국의 오방색(五方色)의 전통적인 색을 추상하여 재 구조화한 현대적 칼라 스팩트럼의 미묘한 질료감(texture)과 조형능력을 보여주고 있다. 

이번 전시에서 그가 눈으로 쫓는 앵글의 초점은 주로 오래된 사찰의 흔적과 비 바람의 오랜 시간의 흐름에서 자연스럽게 노출된 거칠고 퇴적된 흔적의 숨겨진 한국미학의 정체성과 역사적 향기의 원형 색을 재해석하여 복원된 사진처럼 그의 직관이라는 앵글에 의해 재 탄생되고 있는 것이다  (이붕열,IACO 대표, 독립큐레이터, 평론 )
