David Kordansky Gallery is pleased to announce its representation of Jonas Wood

Jonas Wood's paintings and works on paper incorporate scenes from everyday life and an array of images drawn from his interests and obsessions. Domestic and gallery interiors, portraits of friends and family members, plants that seem to reference modernist design, baseball and basketball cards, and ancient and contemporary ceramic vessels are rendered with acute attention toward geometry, patterning, and perspective. His practice charts the territory between visual and psychological experience, while shedding light on a deeply personal understanding of the history of representational imagery. In 2010 Wood was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; his work was also recently included in Mixed Signals: Artists Consider Masculinity in Sports, Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus. Other recent exhibitions include solo shows at Anton Kern Gallery, New York and Shane Campbell Gallery, Chicago. Wood's first exhibition at David Kordansky Gallery will open in April 2012.
