Work Description
This painting expresses the fundamental essences of universe - heaven, earth and mankind, which always give us brand-new inspirations.
The artist has been putting his utmost effort to combine the slices of memory from our everyday and traditional life and seeks to draw them in the modernized canvas.
Furthermore, by imbueing the Taoist though of 'Muwijayeon,' which means 'let the nature take its course,' he strives himself to maximize the emotions of the old days so that his own works can guide the cold and frigid sentiments of modernized people to take more kind and peaceful way.
To achieve the abovementioned effect, the artist has chosen various constituents of the aweinspiring nature, namely sun, moon, cloud, stars, graceful tall pine trees, mountains and Sohtdae, a pole signifying prayer for good harvest in traditional Korea, as the subject matters.
Also to express them in more natural and antique way, he utilizes acrylic color mixed with emery powder, gold dust, soil and so on, resulting in more effective canvas of great depth.
