Celebrating Beijing 2008 Olympic

Exhibition Details

 

1 Objective

  This exhibition celebrates the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the hosting

  of Equestrian Event in Hong Kong.  With this cultural exchange program,

  the organizers promote better understanding among the younger generation.

  Hong Kong Union of Visual Artists

 

4 Eligibility

  The exhibition is opened to Asian youth and children aged 5 to 18.

 

5 Artwork Guideline

  Theme: Olympics and / or sport-related pictorial expression via 2-D artworks..

  Medium: Oil, watercolour, wood-block print, pastel, crayon, pencil drawing,

          collage, and mixed media painting.

  Maximum dimension: 54 x 38 cm

  Minimum dimension: 36 x 26 cm

  Number of works: Each participating artist may submit one artwork (mounted but

                 unframed ) only.

   Each participating Country / Region may send in 10-20 pieces

   of artworks .

  Label: Please attach the enclosed ¡®Artwork Information Label¡¯ to the back of the

        artworks.

 

6 Publicity

  The organizers have the privilege to re-produce and publish all artworks submitted

  for promotional purposes.

 

7 Venue

  Exhibition Gallery, High Block, City Hall, Central, Hong Kong

 

8 Exhibition date

  July 24–27, 2008

 

9 Deadline for Submission

  Please send in your intention of participation by March 30, 2008

  Please fill in the attached artwork list and send in by April 20, 2008

  Please ensure artworks to arrive at the address below by May 30, 2008

 

10 Artwork Delivery

  Artwork should be mailed to the attention of Mr WEI Chin of

  Lo Fung Art Gallery at Unit 802-804 Kwun Tong View 410 Kwun Tong Road

  Kowloon Hong Kong SAR China Tel (852) 9312-0093.

 

11 Jury

  An adjudicating panel consisting of representatives from the organizers will select

  artwork / artworks submitted by all participating Country / Region for conversion

  into a gigantic mosaic mural.

 

12 Recognition

  Certificates of Merit will be presented to artists whose artwork is selected

  for mosaic mural conversion.  The mosaic mural will be executed by two

  thousand (or more) students organized by the Hong Kong Youth Visual

  Association.  The organizers will bring the result of the execution as an entry to

  and for the consideration of the Guinness World Record.

 

13 Return of Artwork

  All artworks will be returned to the participating Country / Region within 1 month

  after the exhibition.
