Lotus  in spring

Expressions/ Wong Keen was born in 1942 and his artistic development may be followed as an aesthetic journey from his formative years  spent in Singapore in the early 1960's and his  migration to New York  in early 1960's and his frequently visits to Singapore after a spell of three decades.

wong Keen arrived in New York to study at the Art student league in New York in 1961. The Leage has been one of the foremost institutions of art in America. He is the first Singaporean to have won the prestigious Edward G McDowell Traveling scholarship awarded by the Art student League in 1965 that enabled him to travel in Europe for one year. He chose to study at Martin's School of Art in London for the duration of the scholarship.

It was in New York that he absorbed the essential qualities of Abstract Expression, astyle he was comfortable with as he was aware that nothing could be more abstract than those Chinese calligraphic ideograms that he knew so well. he has developed a style which moves freely between naturalistic, narrative and abstract depictions, which are rich in heritage.

-Goh Beng Kwan-

Born in Medan, Sumatra in Indonesia in 1937, Goh migrated with his family to Singapore in 1945. He had studied with Singapore artist Chen Wen Hsi and Cheong Soo Pieng in the Chinese High School in the 1950s. He left for New York in 1962 where he studied under artist Sydney Gross at the Art Student League, and was exposed to the then- dominent trends of Abstract Expression( as practised by artists such as Wilhem de Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Franz Kline and Hans Hoffman) Goh's early Cubist- influenced paintings of the 1950's then gave way to works in the 1960s with dramatic gestural strokes and abstract compositions in geometric forms.
Goh is most noted for his works in colleges with an "Oriental Perspective". This is based on his choice of colours such as red and gold, and materials drawn from his immediate surrounding, such as rice paper, packaging.Chinese papercuts and print, Fabric, Bamboo, String, sand and even rusty objects like nails, to express a certain sence of locality and belonging.
In addition, Goh's formative years with Chen also ensured a firm foundation in Chinese ink painting.

-Thammanoon Ruengsawat-

ThammaNoon was born in thailand in 1958, graduated from Dhonburi Teacher's College, and has been act as member of Six Point Group, Tsia-Mo Artists, Taiwan . His formative view , in the leaf of Lotus as its deep meaning that are  certainly based on Zen from the buddhism with abstracted back ground, which are very unique, it seems from his philosophy and his belief that  appreciates to the buddism.
To be clam and to be free, in view of colouring choice that is likely one of ritual, beyond the limit of colour in nature. his technical depicton is quite different manners, to creat another realism by himself, also what he stick to leaf shape of Lotus is obviously forward to the path of eternity for human being.
his work intend to the real freedom came from the bottom of heart to desire another his world only. in his painting, there are both meanings of  abstraction and formative in chaos which he knew only in its truth.

He also has many special experiences about the watercolour paintings since 1985 to 2005.
